Prop dumpsters, curbside carts and street trash cans for rent

Dumpsters by the cubic yard, and the small flip lid dumpsters

D-0006-3 is the line for a row of dumpsters at one size: metal, 3 cubic yards, 19 in the book. D-0006-2 is metal at 2 cubic yards, with 4. Both ask the renter to specify the color and the lids, and neither gives a measurement; D-0006XL, 5 cubic yards on casters, is the cubic yard line that does, at 80 inches wide, 52 deep and 66 tall at the back.

The 3 small dumpsters each have 2 flip lids and step up in width: 50 inches on D-0034A and 63 on D-0034B, both metal with a flat top, the second with a lock bar, and 72 on D-0034C, blue metal with black plastic lids and the one dumpster line that states its color. D-0034A asks for a color, and D-0034B's line breaks off inside a SPECIFY note, at "COLO".

D-0006-2, D-0006-3, D-0006XL and D-0034C also carry a return note that the book cuts off.

Two-wheel curbside carts by color, build and height

Every two-wheel Recycling/Trash bin line is built the same way: a plastic body color, a flip top, 2 casters, a build and a size, and the build goes with the height. The 45 heavy duty carts on 10 lines stand 41 to 45 inches tall; the 35 light duty carts on 6 lines stand 36 to 38 where a height is given, so in a row that mixes the two builds, the lids step 3 to 9 inches.

For lids at one height, 29 heavy duty carts stand 45 inches tall in blue, green, black and gray, and 24 light duty carts stand 36 inches, each with a black flip top on a blue, yellow or gray body. Black and green come only in the heavy duty build, yellow and speckled green only in the light duty build, and blue and gray in both. The speckled green R-0036B-6 is cut off in the book after its width, 24 inches, and the start of the next figure, so ask the front office for its height.

For black, blue and green carts that match in size, the heavy duty 26 by 34 by 45 inch cart comes in all three: 4 black on R-0036A-3, 9 blue on R-0036A-1 and 6 green on R-0036A-2, so on the book's counts the black line decides how many matched sets that size makes. At 41 inches the same three colors come with gray, though the black R-0036A-9 and gray R-0036A-10 are an inch wider than the blue R-0036A-7 and green R-0036A-8.

Four-wheel bins, scoop carts and handled bins

The four-wheel bins, the castered bin and the scoop carts, 8 lines, are filed both here and under Trash/Recycling/Laundry Carts: four-wheel plastic Recycling/Trash bins in blue (R-0053A, R-0053C), black (R-0053B) and gray (R-0053D), 43 to 46 inches wide; a beige four-wheel recycling bin, R-0154; C-0348, white plastic on a castered metal frame; and the gray polycarbonate scoop style carts C-0393 and C-0625, 72 and 66 inches wide, the second with a hinged lid.

The handled bins R-0041B (blue) and R-0041G (gray) have no photo on file and no page: Recycling/Trash bins with handles, 22 inches wide, 11 deep and 30 tall, 7 between them in the book. Their stock numbers open a stock book search; ask the front office about them.

Wire mesh, funnel top, hooded and pebble side street cans

T-0221 counts 27 wire mesh exterior cans on one line, 23 inches across and 33 tall, color to specify. It is the line under EC's index name "Trash Cans NY Style Wire Mesh" that reads wire mesh, though the book gives no city, maker or year for it. Two more lines in the round can table, both funnel tops, add 9 cans: T-0435, metal with wire sides and a funnel style lid, color to specify, and T-0270, blue metal with a silver metal funnel top attached.

T-0150 is marked period: a hooded exterior can with a door, 6 in the book, color to specify, and at 50 inches taller than every other can here whose height the book gives. The pebble side cans all have brown frames, 6 on three lines: T-0411 with a flip top, a slot and an ashtray, and T-0136B and T-0136C with flip hood tops and inserts, the second with a square slot cut in the center and a size the book cuts off after "21". T-0136A shares the 21 by 21 by 40 inch size of T-0136B, in green metal with a flip hood top, a square slot in the center and an insert.

Two hooded can lines have 2 swing doors on each can, 3 cans between them: T-0280 in blue/gray plastic with an insert and T-0555 in white metal. For a plaza or park dressed in brown, the hooded brown plastic T-0500 sits with the brown framed pebble side cans. Lobby and office cans have a category of their own, Interior Trash Cans.

Galvanized cans, a drum can, composters and bagged trash

C-0184 lists galvanized trash cans in assorted sizes, with no count in the book and a note to specify with or without a lid, so name the lid and the sizes when you ask. T-0119 is a trash can the book describes as a 55 gallon drum with a swing top lid, 2 in the book. B-0013, bags of trash listed as clean, has no count either; if the bags will sit in a rented dumpster, ask how the dumpster note applies to them.

The 4 composters, on 3 lines, are C-0335 in green plastic with a black bottom and lid, C-0651, a black ball 28 inches across on a roller base, and C-0856, a 55 gallon drum on a stand with an access door and a handle.

Bringing dumpsters and carts back inside the rental week

The rental week is 7 days, so dumpsters picked up on a Wednesday are due back the following Tuesday, and the loading dock closes at 4:30 PM for returns. Plan for that trip to bring every dumpster back empty and clean, as the book's return note asks, and call the front office if the shoot needs a grace day. For the truck each way, D-0006XL is 80 inches wide and 66 tall at the back, and D-0034C and the C-0393 scoop cart are 72 inches wide.
