Stools for rent by height: mechanic's, stainless, swivel and wood

Stool heights as EC's book gives them

On a stool with no back the top of the stool is the seat, but on a line with a back the height in EC's book may run to the top of the back, so check the seat height with the front office before matching a backed stool to a counter. S-1052 and S-2095 tie their ranges to the seat in so many words. Adjustable, swivel, castered and hydraulic cover describe a stool, not a promise that it rises, turns or rolls on camera, and EC's as-is policy makes no exception for them: "All items are rented on an as-is basis, without an electrical plug, which makes the items non-operational at time of pick-up."

A 36 inch counter usually takes a seat of about 24 to 26 inches. The fixed stools in that band that name no back are S-0292c and the S-0492 metal stool and step stool (7 in the book) at 24, S-0292a, S-2147b and the tractor seat S-0375 at 25, and S-0574 and S-0275 at 26. The adjustable S-0439, S-1052, S-2095, S-1579a, S-1579b and S-1908 take in the same heights, and so does the period S-2921, though its range may run to the top of its back; S-2639 adjusts up to 24, the bottom of the band. The book's text stops short on three more adjustable lines, S-2490 after 22, S-2268 after 20 and S-2958 after 16, so phone the front office to learn whether any of them reaches the band. The backed S-2490 and S-2268, S-2922 at 24 and S-0463 at 25 need the same seat height check.

A 42 inch bar top usually takes about 28 to 30 inches. Of the stools below, the fixed ones at that height that name no back are S-0263 and S-1051 at 28 and S-0292b and S-2147c at 30, and the backed C-0104 and S-2265 give 28. Of the adjustable lines named above, S-0439 tops out at 28 and S-2639 at 24, and the tops of S-2490, S-2268 and S-2958 are cut off; the rest reach 30, and S-1579a goes on to 32. S-2241 adjusts 28 to 32, the backed S-2266 and S-0456 run 28 to 32 and 28 to 34, and S-0389 starts at 28 with the top of its range cut off.

For a desk or a 30 inch table, the castered S-2374 and S-2908 adjust 18 to 22 inches and S-2639 18 to 24, S-2297's 6 dark wood swivel seats adjust 16 to 21, and S-1116's 8 natural wood stools stand 20. Lower still, the shop table holds the mechanic's stools, from 13, and S-0327, a small metal stool at 12.

How many stools one line holds

Of the 51 lines here, 5 count six or more, 43 stools between them; 14 hold 2 or 3, 28 hold a single stool, and 4 give no count. A matching row longer than six means S-1804 or S-1116. S-0492 counts 7, but its line asks for a color and for fold out steps or a fold up seat, so the 7 may not all match; phone the front office for the split by color and by steps or seat. Any other row of seven or more mixes stock numbers, and no stool line in EC's book describes another as a match. The chrome pedestals hold 6 with wood seats on S-1908 and 2 in black vinyl on S-2241, and their height ranges meet at 28 to 30 inches. The 13 inch wood S-0292 lines differ in finish and height: 3 at 24 inches on S-0292c and 2 at 25 on S-0292a, natural wood with rounded legs, and 2 brown and 1 black at 30 on S-0292b, painted and on squared legs. The green frame S-2147 run stops at 4, one stool to each height, and the vinyl swivels in four colors stop at 6.

Mechanic's, shop and step stools

The mechanic's stools step up from 13 inches on S-1511, rectangular and 15 inches wide by 17 deep, to 14 to 18 on S-1396 (3 in the book) and 16 to 20 on C-0373, which adds a storage tray. The three are castered and red and black in the book, and the same stock numbers appear under Automotive Items beside EC's creepers.

S-0005, the shop stool, gives no size or count; the request names a color, round or square, and with or without a back. S-0492, 7 in the book, is a 24 inch metal stool and step stool, requested by color and by fold out steps or a fold up seat.

Stainless steel, lab and task stools

Besides the prison style S-1270 on its post, 8 stool lines are stainless steel, 14 stools, and they read in pairs: S-0389 and S-0456, castered with a black center, without and with a backrest; S-2265 and S-2266, a black padded seat and back, the first with arms and not adjustable; S-1051 and S-1052, round seats, the first fixed at 28 inches and the second castered and adjustable; and S-2462a and S-2462b, flat and contoured seats with a black flex hydraulic cover, both lines cut off with neither giving a height.

S-0989, the book's lab stool, is metal with a 13 inch round seat and has no photo or count on file. The second table holds the padded and metal task stools on casters or 5 point bases. For the rest of a lab set, see Laboratory Items and Stainless Steel Tables.

Chrome pedestal, footrest and vinyl swivel stools

The chrome pedestal base carries a 14 inch round swivel seat in wood on S-1908, 6 in the book, and in black vinyl on S-2241, 2. S-2095 is chrome with a backrest and a 14 inch seat, and its line names no pedestal base or swivel; S-0439 sets a brown padded seat on chrome legs, and S-1579a and S-1579b are backless footrest stools with an 18 by 17 inch black seat on a metal frame.

The metal frame swivels with a vinyl seat and back come in four colors, 6 stools on 4 lines: black C-0104 (2), blue S-0463 in vinyl/fabric on casters (2), and green S-2243g and orange S-2243o, 1 each and alike in size and height. EC also files all four under Swivel Chairs.

Wood stools and wood seats on metal frames

S-1116 has 8 in the book, natural wood stools 13 inches across and 20 tall. S-0292c and S-0292a are natural wood with rounded legs and a 13 inch seat, 3 and 2 in the book, an inch apart in height; S-0292b has the same seat in painted wood with squared legs, counted as 2 brown and 1 black, so the request names the color.

S-2147a to S-2147d read the same, a wood seat on a green metal frame, at 27, 25, 30 and 21 inches, with a back on S-2147d alone; each height is its own line with 1 in the book. On turned wood legs, S-0574's beige padded seat and S-0275's beige vinyl top both stand 26 inches.

Stools the book marks period

EC's book marks 3 stools period, one of each, and names no era: S-1919, with a western branding iron design; S-2921, a wood seat and back on green metal legs, its own line and not part of the S-2147 run; and S-2922, green upholstered and on casters. In the other tables, the one word for age is S-2958's aged vinyl top.

Post-mounted stools for a prison set

S-1804 counts 16: wood seat stools, 11 inches across and 19 tall, each on a metal post with a floor mount bracket. S-1270, 2 in the book, is the stainless steel prison style line, a post stool on a metal base, and EC files it under Jail Bars & Furnishings too; that guide covers C-0480, the visiting counter whose line names S-1804. How the S-1804 bracket meets a floor is a front office question; EC rents it as-is.
