Hazardous location fluorescents by maker and model

Five of the fluorescent lines in the table below carry a maker and number, so a fixture identified from a location photo can be asked for by its number instead of described. Crouse Hinds has one line per bulb count: EVF-22088 on L-0182 with 2 bulbs, EVF-133 on L-0230 with 3 and EVF-24088 on L-0234 with 4. Appleton has AVH-210-118 on L-0176 with 2 and ARS-340-118 on L-0580 with 3. The two-bulb bodies hold most of the units on these five lines, 96 and 88; the others run from 11 down to 5.

Each model line lists its bulbs, as in "w/ (2) OPTIMA 32 4' bulbs" on L-0182, then opens a square-bracket note the book cuts off almost at once, so ask the front office what that note says. Hazardous location, the makers, the numbers and the bulb counts all come from EC's book wording, and none of it is read here as a rating, class or code, or as a sign that a fixture will light: each goes out as-is, without an electrical plug.

Two more fluorescent lines on this page carry the hazardous location wording with no maker in the text that shows: L-0489, a 4 foot surface mount fixture in stainless steel with a plexiglass cover, and L-0412, a wall or ceiling mount 24 inches wide and 12 deep with 4 clips and a wall mount. Every line in this table but L-0412 also appears under four foot fluorescent lights, same stock number, same count.

Incandescent globe fixtures by mount and globe size

The 19 incandescent globe lines in the three tables below hold 137 units: 53 on 7 hanging lines, 37 on 5 wall mounts and 47 on 7 flush mounts. The book sizes each globe as diameter by height, from 4 by 5 inches on L-0490 and L-0491 to 9 by 7 on L-0390a and L-0390b; L-0280 gives the whole fixture instead, 10 inches wide, 16 deep and 10 tall. The top count on each mount here: L-0145, flush, 5 by 7 with guard, 25 units; L-0388, hanging, 5 by 8 with guard, 19; L-0476, wall, 8 by 6 with guard, 15.

Under Hazardous Location Lights, five globe sizes come on two mounts each: 9 by 7 hangs without a guard on L-0390a and sits flush with one on L-0390b; 8 by 6 is a wall mount on L-0476 and hangs on L-0526; 6 by 7 hangs on L-0143 and mounts on a wall on L-0542; 5 by 6 is a wall mount on L-0154 and hangs on L-0496; 6 by 6 is the wall mount L-0116 and the single flush mount L-0484a. The book gives the globe's size, not its look, so to match a reference photo, set each line's item page photo beside it before choosing.

Where the book sizes a globe, which it does on every line in the hanging, wall and flush tables but L-0280, the globe's height runs from 8 inches on L-0388 down to 4 on L-0484b and 3 on L-0484c, two flush mounts of one unit each. Overall height shows in the tables only where the book prints it before the line is cut off, so for a low set ceiling, ask the front office for that figure by stock number.

Hazardous location china hats, told apart by maker

The maker note in square brackets separates four of the 16 inch china hat lines with globe and guard in the table below: L-0334 is Crouse Hinds EVA-120, 15 units; L-0335 and L-0337 are the Appleton A-51 and AA-51 series, 4 and 2; L-0336 is a single Killark HP-2-200.

Two more maker notes in this category end before a full number, on the flush mount L-0338 at CROUSE HIND and on the white L-0510 at CROUSE HINDS #EVA. The 18 inch L-0055, 40 units, and the 20 inch L-0169, 20 units, name no maker in the text that shows, and between them they hold most of the 87 china hat units here.
