Four foot fluorescent lights for rent: eggcrate, hooded, caged and wet location

Eggcrate fixtures for office ceilings

L-0259 and L-0048 share one description, an eggcrate fixture with (2) 4'l white plastic side panels, and part ways on bulbs: L-0259 uses 2, L-0048 uses 4. L-0475 (10) reads word for word like L-0259 up to the point where the book cuts both off, so the text does not show what sets the two lines apart; compare the two lines' photos, or call the front office, before both go into one ceiling.

Art deco is a word the book uses once in this category, for L-0023, whose panels are (4) 2'l plastic side panel inserts rather than two 4 foot panels. L-0255 (6) pairs (1) 4'l eggcrate panel with (2) 4'l white plastic side panel inserts. Of the 12 eggcrate lines below, metal side panels come on 4, 71 fixtures: L-0416 (37, 2 bulbs) and L-0529 (19, 4 bulbs) with an attached metal side panel, L-0478 (11), which adds two 22 by 2 inch frosted pieces before its text stops at "frosted p", and L-0505 (4) in white metal.

Tan comes on 2 of these eggcrate lines: L-0059 (29), a heavy duty eggcrate body on 4 bulbs, and L-0318 (8), a tan painted metal box with a white plastic eggcrate for a flush or recessed mount. L-0262 (4) has a rounded eggcrate bottom on 1 bulb.

Matching across 2, 4 and 8 foot lengths

EC's book ties some of these fixtures to its 2 foot and 8 foot fluorescents in its own words. L-0041 (3), a white vented hood, carries the note "MATCHES L-0047", and the 8 foot L-0047 answers "MATCHES L-0041". The 2 foot eggcrate L-0498 is written as matching L-0220 and L-0259, so EC's note ties one 2 foot line to both the 4 foot L-0259 and the 8 foot L-0220.

Other notes stop short. L-0262 and the 8 foot L-0260 are described in the same words, rounded eggcrate bottom and 1 bulb, and the MATCHES note on each breaks off after "L-02", so ask the front office which line it names. L-0219's starred note is cut off after "MA", and L-0427's after "T".

Some lines read alike across lengths, though no full MATCHES note can be read in the text the book shows for them. Most of those lines are cut off, L-0219 among them, so compare each pair in photos, and ask the front office whether a note past the cut marks any of them as a match. The low-profile silver frame with a milk colored bottom cover is L-0508 here and L-0509 at 8 feet. The white hood with an ice cube tray diffuser is L-0219 and the hinged L-0140 here, and L-0326 at 8 feet, with (2) 4'l diffusers. L-0255's one eggcrate panel and two side panel inserts become two and four on the 8 foot L-0252.

The angled white metal wall or ceiling mount with a ribbed plexiglass face is 48 inches wide here, on L-0456 and L-0527, and 24 inches wide at 2 feet on L-0564; the 2 foot black metal version, L-0565, is 25 inches wide. The frosted plexiglass wet location cover runs from L-0477A at 2 feet through L-0160G and L-0160W to L-0433 at 8 feet.

Hooded fixtures and shop lights for work spaces

Hoods fill the first table: 11 lines, 259 fixtures. L-0219 and L-0638 count 60 each: a white hood with an ice cube tray diffuser, and a lightweight white hood with metal reflector panels and a white cage. L-0140 (12) has a hinged ice cube tray diffuser, and L-0367 (12) is a white vented hood with a chrome reflector panel and a slatted diffuser on 3 bulbs. Two of the 11 are gray, L-0036 (33), lightweight with a vented shade, and L-0142 (22); the other hoods in the table are white.

Cages come two ways on these hoods and shop lights. On 4 lines the book lists the cage with the fixture: the hoods L-0638, L-0592 (8) and L-0598-2 (22), and the white ballast box L-0516 (20) with (2) wire bulb cages or guards. On 3 others a SPECIFY note calls for the request to say with or without a cage: L-0142, L-0427 and the shop light L-0674. L-0460 (19) has a SPECIFY note too, cut off after "W/OR W/", so ask what it covers.

Basic shop lights make up most of the second table: L-0674 (24) and L-0378 (23) on 2 bulbs and L-0673 (14) on 1; with the ballast box they come to 81 fixtures.

Wet location bodies by bulb cover

Every four foot fluorescent line the book calls wet location is in the table below, 6 lines that sort by bulb cover. Frosted plexiglass comes on a white plastic body, L-0160W (50), or a gray one, L-0160G (26), and both lines stop at "with 4", before the book says what the 4 are. L-0141 (5) and L-0520 (5) have clear plexiglass covers, the second with 4 clips to hold the cover. Clear ribbed plexiglass comes with (4) plastic clips on L-0435A, counted "45 (20 cages)", and with metal clips on L-0435B (7).

Flush boxes, wall mounts and the billboard box

L-0203 (18) is a flush mount metal box with a plastic lens, 49"w x 10"d x 4"t, on 2 bulbs. L-0684 (5) is a flush mount metal box with a 46"w x 10"d stainless steel diffuser; its box size begins 48"w x 12 and stops there. The angled wall or ceiling mounts L-0527 (9) and L-0456 (2) are white metal with a ribbed plexiglass face, 48 inches wide, the rest of the size cut off.

The odd profiles are L-0384 (20), thin and white with triangular ends and a plastic cover, on 1 bulb; L-0349 (8), with a triangular plexiglass cover; and L-0508 (10), low-profile, a silver frame with a milk colored bottom cover. Standing units, 53 to 56 inches tall

The vertical standing units put a 4 foot fluorescent on the floor instead of the ceiling. L-0589B stands 56 inches tall overall and L-0589C 53, with 4 of each in the book; after the height, each of those two lines reads "on a 20"w x 20"d x 4"t ba" and stops. The cylindrical L-0589A is 54 inches tall, 7 in the book, and its line is cut off at "on a 12"w x". The book also files all 3 under Work Lights and Hazardous Location Lights, though the words hazardous location do not appear in the text it shows for any of them.

Panels, lenses and covers on the renter's truck

Before a large order of L-0259 or L-0048, call the front office to settle what size truck to send; the truck and the crew are the renter's. Plexiglass covers, lenses and plastic side panels go out with their fixtures: bring pads and ropes or tie-downs, since EC does not supply expendables.
