Chain link panel heights and widths
The table lists 17 chain link panel lines, tallest first, with the quantity the book shows for each. They run from 4 feet tall (F-0327, 8 feet wide) to 9 feet tall (F-0372, topped with barbed wire), and the widest of them, F-0055, is 16 feet across with eight in the book. Chain link outside this table, such as P-0141, a metal cage panel 5 feet wide by 10 feet tall, and P-0185, a rusty panel on three small feet, turns up in the stock book search on the home page; ask the front office about those by stock number.

How much fence line the panels make
Laid end to end, the 8 foot tall chain link panels in the table above make 266 feet of fence line, the 6 foot tall panels about 164 feet and the 4 foot tall panels 56 feet. The 6 foot tall figure counts F-0382 and F-0383, which the book lists with no feet. Each total multiplies a panel's width by the quantity in the book and takes no account of your dates, so confirm with the front office what is out on your dates before you plan a long run.
| Height | Panels | Feet of fence line |
|---|---|---|
| 9 ft, barbed wire top | 1 | 6 |
| 8 ft | 23 | 266 |
| 7 ft, barbed wire top | 2 | about 20 |
| 6 ft | 21 | about 164 |

Support feet, doors, gates and barbed wire
Most of the chain link panels above stand on F-0056 support feet, a line of their own in the stock book that the panel listings point to, so mention the feet when you request the panels. F-0031F has attached feet, and F-0382 and F-0383 are listed with no feet.
Three of the panels in the sizes table have a door built in: F-0200, 8 feet tall by 10 feet wide with a door 7 feet tall and 3 feet wide; F-0321, 6 by 6 feet with a door 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide; and F-0383, 6 feet tall by 58 inches wide with a chain link door 65 inches tall and 53 inches wide. The category's separate chain link gates, F-0322, F-0322B and F-0322C, run 70 to 74 inches tall and 34 to 41 inches wide.
Barbed wire tops come on three panels, each with three strands across the top: C-0538A, 7 feet tall by 10 feet wide; C-0538B, 7 feet tall by 9 feet 8 inches wide; and F-0372, 9 feet tall by 6 feet wide. EC's listing shows the C-0538 pair with stretcher bars. For barbed wire at one even height along a run, the match among these three panels is the 7 foot tall C-0538 pair, a single panel of each in the book and about 20 feet of fence line together, since F-0372 stands 2 feet taller. Mock barbwire (B-0322) and mock razor wire (R-0055), with barb and razor wire hardware such as the F-0367 and F-0367S brackets and the A-0045 dual barb arm on its post, are listed on their own and kept out of the tables here; name them by stock number when you call, and for B-0322 give the number of pieces and the length of each, as its listing asks.
Interior bracing is not the same on every F-0017A, F-0031 and F-0172 panel: EC's listing says there are multiple variations of interior support framing, so ask the front office which framing is on the floor when the bracing will read on camera.
Wrought iron fence and expanded metal panels
F-0343 is a black, freestanding wrought iron fence section, 101 inches wide and 101 inches tall, listed with attached feet and four in the stock book.
The expanded metal panels in the table below come in two sizes: P-0018A, 6 feet tall by 8 feet wide, with 15 in the book, and P-0018B, 8 feet tall by 6 feet wide, with 20. Both stand on removable support feet listed as P-0018F. EC's listing marks the expanded metal panels okay to paint and notes the sections can be different colors, so call to confirm the current color. The chain link, gate and wrought iron lines on this page and the F-0056 feet carry no paint note in EC's listings, so get the front office's word before painting any of them.

Picking up fence sections at Sherman Way
Fence sections leave the warehouse will-call, and EC's rental policies are direct about loading: "Due to our insurance policies, E. C. Prop Rentals employees cannot help you load or unload your truck, car or van." Send enough crew with the driver. The F-0055 panels are 16 feet across, so call ahead to ask what size truck the order needs, and bring pads and ropes or tie-downs, because EC does not supply expendables. Apart from the holiday closings listed in the rental policies, the dock takes fence pickups and returns Monday to Friday until 4:30 PM, so get the truck there with enough time to load or unload.
A rental week is seven days: a Wednesday pickup is due back the following Tuesday, and EC's policies say to call if you need a grace day. Before EC can write an estimate or invoice, the production has to be active in EC's system, through the Open Account form or, for the current job only, the Quick Form. "You must have a valid certificate of insurance before you will be allowed to pick up or begin loading an order," says EC's certificate policy, and the account holder and the payer must both be the company that certificate lists as insured; the sample certificate shows every section needed for coverage. A Quick Form order is paid at pickup, and under the credit card rules any card has to be the insured company's own business or corporate card, as EC cannot process personal credit cards.

Lines without a photo on file, as the stock book lists them, EC's own marks included; lines EC marks PUT IN METAL BIN or FEET CUT OFF are not counted in this page's totals. Call the front office to check any of them.
Ask about fence sections for your dates
Put the panels and their feet on a request hold list: F-0056 for the chain link panels whose listings name it, P-0018F for the expanded metal panels. Then call or email the front office with the stock numbers and your dates, because EC's rule is "Must call or email to verify availability."
Questions about renting fence sections
Does EC Props deliver chain link fence sections?
No. EC Props rents fence sections will-call only, from its warehouse at 11846 Sherman Way in North Hollywood, and the production's own crew, or a shipper the production arranges directly, collects them; either way, getting them back on time stays the production's job. In EC's words, "E. C. Prop Rentals does not provide pick up or delivery." Plan the truck, the crew and the tie-downs before the pickup day.
How do the chain link panels stand up without posts?
Most chain link panels in EC's Fence Sections category are listed with F-0056 support feet, which EC describes as the feet for chain link fencing unless an item notes otherwise. F-0056 has no quantity in the book, so name the feet on the request and confirm the count. F-0031F has attached feet and the expanded metal panels take their own removable feet, P-0018F. F-0382 and F-0383 are listed with no feet, so a run with those two needs some other way to stand them; check that with the front office.
Does the stock book show which fence panels are out on rental?
No, it shows counts. The book's eight F-0055 panels, 16 feet wide, are what EC Props carries of that line, and the book cannot say how many of them are out on rental in a given week. Only the front office can, so phone it at 818.764.2008 or email ecprops@aol.com before a truck sets out, with the stock numbers and the pickup and return dates.
Pieces that pair with a fence line
For the rest of a construction, parking or prison perimeter, the stock book files these in their own categories: Barricades, Accordion Security Gates, Construction Site Signs, Security Guard Booths, Jail Bars & Furnishings, Traffic Cones / Bollards.
