Fire safety signs for rent: extinguisher, hose, alarm, exit and sprinkler signs

Fire extinguisher signs: strips, panels and projecting mounts

S-0075l, S-0075m and S-0075s are the extinguisher strips the book calls long, medium and short, red and white and 4 inches wide: 24 inches tall with 5 in the book, 20 with 12 and 18 with 32. Each line tells you to specify plastic or metal yet keeps one count for both, so if every strip in the shot must be the same material, ask how the count splits.

By face area, the other extinguisher lines below with a size given run from the 5 by 6 inch oval S-1336 to S-0628 at 20 by 14. Six of those lines are 14 by 10: S-0953, S-0661, S-1420 and S-1421 name no second face, S-1420 with a red arrow and 6 in the book, while S-0953a, with 7, and the wall mount S-0994 are 2-sided metal. In this category, red and silver metal comes on three lines: S-0834, a 10 by 14 inch panel with 5 in the book, and two strips at 4 by 20 inches, the 2-sided S-0832 and S-0831, which reads Emergency Shutoff.

In the second table, three lines name a mount that stands off the wall: S-0276, arrow pointing down, on a protruding wall mount; S-1404 on an angled wall mount 4 inches deep; and S-1831 on a 90 degree bracket. S-0382 points left on one face and right on the other; its book line ends at "masonit..." and gives no size.

Fire hose signs

S-2388 holds 15 plastic hose signs at 20 by 4 inches, and S-0584 holds 5 more at 5 by 24, both red and white with a V after the words; the V is the book's own mark, so check the photo. S-1807 matches the extinguisher strip S-1806 in every term but its wording, white/green lucite at 4 by 18 inches, 2 of each, and S-0570 is a wood board at 32 by 26. Fire alarm, pull station and sprinkler alarm signs

S-0952, Fire Alarm V in plastic at 9 by 12 inches, has 7 in the book; S-0993 is the same wording and size as a 2-sided wall mount. The book describes S-2223, Fire Alarm, in the same terms as the extinguisher strip S-2224: 2-sided, wall mount, metal, red/white, 4 by 24 inches. The pull station signs in this table are small, 5 by 3 inches on S-1309 and S-1494, and S-0812 is 4 engraved plastic signs at 7½ by 4. The alarmed door notices S-1272 and S-3127 are listed with the exit signs.

S-1189 and S-1995 name a sprinkler alarm, the second in porcelain, and S-1920, Fire Alarm in metal and enamel, is marked period. The category holds signs only, no bell or pull station; no line in it is electrical, and nothing in the book says a sign meets a fire code.

Fire escape, fire exit and fire door signs

S-0357, Fire Escape, has 6 of the 12 fire escape signs filed here, white and red metal at 16 by 6 inches, with or without arrows as you specify. The other four fire escape lines hold the remaining 6 signs, all plastic, and S-2221 breaks from red and white in beige and gold. S-1427, This Is Not A Fire Exit, is wood at 41 by 16 inches. On the doors, S-1004 says Fire Door Do Not Block Keep Closed in black and yellow metal, and the book words S-0714, with a picture of flames, as This Is A Fire Door Keep Closed Block Or Fasten Open, its colors trailing off at "red/blk..."; look at its photo for the exact words on the face. S-3134, Fire Wall 2 Hour Rated Seal All Penetrations, 3 at 10 by 7 inches, goes on the wall, not the door.

In case of fire: elevator signs and evacuation plans

S-2393, Notice If Fire No Elevator-Stair in the book's shorthand, is the line to ask about when every landing needs the same notice: 10 in the book, plastic in blue, white and black, 14 by 10 inches. S-0395 reads In Case of Fire or Earthquake, S-1593 Do Not Use Elevator Or Stairs, and the book spells S-0433 D Not Use Elevators, so check its photo before it goes on camera. S-1585, with steps that begin Ring Alarm Bell and Remain In Elevator, reads as a sign for inside the car.

Of the 3 evacuation plan lines under this category, S-0126 is 3 in a red frame at 11 by 17 inches, with A, B or C to specify, and S-0970 is 3 framed maps whose wording the book cuts off. S-2177 has a slot for a 16 by 11 inch map, so ask whether a map comes in it.

Sprinkler riser, standpipe and shutoff valve signs

S-1307, Inside Fire Sprinkler Control Valve Keep Open, and S-1308, Main Drain Valve, have 7 each in red and white at 5 by 3 and 4 by 3 inches, against 4 each of S-1306, Inspector's Test Valve, and S-1310, Sprinkler Drain Valve, at 4 by 3. S-1333, This Valve Controls Automatic Sprinklers, has 8 at 8 by 9, and two of the shutoff valve lines below are plastic at 10 by 14 inches: S-1827, Sprinkler Shut-Off Valve, with 1, and S-2436, Wet Stand Pipe Shut Off Valve, with 2.

S-2479, Sprinkler Shut-Off In Basement See Superintendent For Access, reads as an apartment building's basement notice, and the book gives 20 inches of its size before the line cuts off. S-2242, Main Drain, names a plumbing department and a security department with their extensions, and its colors break off at "red/whit..." in the book.

Fire lane and keep clear signs

S-1228, Danger Fire Regulations Demand This Space Be Clear, has 4 in metal at 10 by 14 inches, and the book words a second regulations notice, S-2905, as Fire Regs Demand Space Clear All Times, in plastic at 14 by 20. S-1000, Fire Lane Keep Clear, has 3, S-1271, Keep Aisles Clear, has 4, and S-0350 is a double-headed arrow with no words in the book. The second table holds two lines whose words in the book do not mention fire.

Pickup: four signs past 24 inches, nine lines with no size

Every sign leaves the dock on a vehicle the renter arranges, the show's own truck or a shipper's. Of the sizes given in the tables above, four pass 24 inches: S-1427, wood at 41 by 16 inches, S-0570, wood at 32 by 26, S-0769, 2-sided metal at 12 by 28, and S-0350 at 25 by 5. Nine lines in those tables give no size, 1 sign each except S-0970, with 3 framed maps, and S-2242, with 2; S-2479 stops at 20 inches, so ask for those measurements in the same call that settles which truck to send.
