Two-tank welder's carts, measured cart and tank
Most of these carts are 30 or 31 inches wide; the rest step down from 26 inches on C-0007n through 24, 23, 22 and 18 to 16 inches on C-0007h, the ones to measure against a gap between benches. Cart heights stay within 41 to 48 inches, while the tanks run from 23 inches on C-0451 to 62 on C-0007j.
No two of these carts carry the same pair of tanks. For a row that reads alike, C-0007d, C-0007f and C-0007k are all 31 inches wide with a 59 inch green tank beside a black one of 49, 55 or 54 inches. Green and black also pair on C-0007a, C-0007c, C-0007l and C-0007m; green goes with red on C-0007b (dark red), C-0007e and C-0007h, with gray on C-0007g and C-0451, and with orange/black on the capped C-0007j. C-0007i, gray and black, and C-0007n, two grays, have no green tank.
Every cart in the table but C-0007j lists 2 sets of gauges; the capped-tank cart names none before the cut. Each cart line stops in the book partway into a further item, and more may follow it, so ask the front office what else rides on a cart before a close-up depends on it. The stock book search for welding on the home page runs across EC's whole book, so it also brings up lines kept outside this guide, among them two more cart lines for welding tanks, neither listing a tank of its own.

Arc, MIG and period welding machines
The book marks 3 arc welders period, all floor machines: W-0008a, red, on casters, 42 inches tall, and W-0008b and W-0008c, in caged carts 48 inches tall, purple and red or green and red. W-0127, the other large arc welder, sits on a cart with 2 large red wheels; its line says orange metal and gives no era, so judge it by its photo. W-0099 is a MIG welder on casters with a 48 inch tank of its own.
The 5 W-0019 tabletop arc welders include two near pairs: W-0019a and W-0019c are both red at 17 by 11 by 24 inches, and W-0019d and W-0019e both 14 by 12 by 21 with no accessories, one black, one beige. W-0040 is a maroon DC inverter welder. Of the three portable MIG welders, W-0119 lists a handle, cords, clamp and torch at 9 by 15 by 14 inches, while W-0126a and W-0126b read alike except for a ground cable on one and a gas hose on the other, with both sizes cut off in the book.

Loose tanks, torch kits and the welder's hand tools
Off the carts, T-0010 lists 9 oxygen/acetylene tanks; the book asks for a color and a height but does not say which ones EC carries, so the front office confirms them. W-0004 lists 2 hand held tanks with gauge, hose and torch, and its line asks for black or red. W-0078 stands a 48 inch green tank on a red tank-style hand truck, and W-0128 packs 2 small tanks, gauges and a torch into a green plastic tote. As hand props, the W-0010 torch handles (4) and W-0013 strikers (5) head the second table, with the cased kits, the slag hammers and the locking C clamps. The same welding search turns up, among others, a welding gauge set, a green and red double hose set and an 18 inch welding torch.

Wire spools, rod cans and rod containers, counted
The welding wire and rod dressing runs to 66 pieces on 8 lines. Wire spools step up from plastic at 10 or 12 inches across (W-0130, name the diameter) to metal at 12 (W-0131) and steel at 18 (W-0129). Rod cans come 6 by 6 by 15 inches (C-0853a) or round (C-0853b, where the book asks for a size and lists none), and the 35 plastic rod containers, which the book marks empty, come blue, orange or squared (C-0852b, C-0852o, C-0852s).

Welder's masks, goggles, gloves and aprons
The welder's wear below comes to 14 masks (W-0001), 13 goggles with straps (W-0015), 10 pairs of gloves (W-0035) and 7 aprons (A-0001), so a crew dressed in all four tops out at 7. None of the four lines gives a lens shade or a glove rating. A search for welder adds a leather welder's jacket and welder's glasses with an adjustable headband.
| Stock number | What it is | Name on the hold list | In the book |
|---|---|---|---|
| W-0001 | Welder's mask | The color | 14 |

Blowtorches and soldering irons
Both blowtorch lines carry era words: B-0056 is the antique brass blowtorch, 8 in the book, whose line asks for a size but lists none, and B-0329 the modern blue tank with a torch tip, 3 in the book. For a tinsmith's or plumber's bench, G-0154 and G-0155 are soldering irons with copper heads, and I-0043 has an iron tip on a wood handle. A soldering search brings up more soldering dressing, among it a soldering gun and a soldering torch in a black metal case.

A blacksmith corner: anvils, tongs, ladle and melting pots
The anvils here are blacksmith's anvils, not the cases under Anvil/Road Cases, and they step down in 3 sizes: A-0067a, black, 19 by 7 by 9 inches; A-0067b, blue, 14 by 6 by 7; and A-0067c, a black mini anvil 9 by 3 by 4. The metalworking tongs come up to 18 inches (H-tong-a, 6 in the book), over 18 (H-tong-b) and as a 27 inch ring-end pair with a wood handle (T-0632). For a foundry corner, L-0607 adds a metal ladle and P-0218 melting pots, which EC counts as 7 with a handle and 1 without.

Welding area signs
S-0066, Return Welding Carts To This Area, marks a bay for the carts above. The arc warning comes three ways, S-1210 in metal and S-1211 and S-1536 in plastic with longer wording; S-0991 is a wood eye protection sign, and S-0840's line is cut off where its material begins. All 6 of these signs are also filed under Factory/Machinery Signs.

Name each cart by its stock number, since each pairs its own two tanks, and for the rest add what each line of the book asks for: the color for masks, gloves and aprons, color and style for goggles, color and height for T-0010, black or red for W-0004, the diameter for W-0130 and the size for B-0056, C-0853b and P-0218. Confirm the whole list before the truck is booked, as EC's hold list puts it: "Must call or email to verify availability."
Welding cart, machine, gear and anvil questions
What sizes and tank colors do EC's welding carts come in?
EC's 15 dressed welder's carts each carry 2 tanks. The carts run 16 to 31 inches wide and 41 to 48 inches tall and the tanks 23 to 62 inches tall, with a green tank on 13 carts, paired with black, red, dark red, gray or orange/black; C-0007i pairs gray with black and C-0007n two grays. C-0007j has the capped tanks, both 62 inches, and C-0451 carries 2 small tanks on an 18 inch cart.
Can the arc and MIG welders strike an arc on camera?
No. EC's as-is rule covers the 3 period arc welders and W-0127, the 5 W-0019 tabletop units, the MIG and inverter welders, the W-0125 foot pedal and the E-0575 control box, whatever cables, torch or power cable a line lists. Each leaves the dock without an electrical plug, which the policy says makes the items non-operational at time of pick-up. For further clarification, the policy points to the front office at 818.764.2008.
What comes on a two-tank welder's cart?
Each of EC's 15 welder's carts that come dressed with tanks carries 2 of them, and all but C-0007j also list 2 sets of gauges; C-0007j, the cart with 2 capped 62 inch tanks, names no gauges before its text breaks off. Every one of those cart lines is cut off partway through one more item, so no cart's full kit is printed: ask the front office, by stock number, what else a cart carries.
How do I ask for welder's masks, gloves or aprons in a certain color?
Write the color beside the stock number on the request hold list, or say it on the phone. The book asks for a color on the welder's masks (W-0001, 14), gloves (W-0035, 10 pairs) and aprons (A-0001, 7), and a color and style on the goggles (W-0015, 13). It does not list the colors on hand, so the front office confirms them.
